Central Japan Railway Company
JR Tokai is working to stimulate tourism demand by developing various campaigns and products for different regions and targets. In Kyoto and Nara, the largest tourism resources in our area, we are running the "Soda Kyoto Iko" campaign and the "Izaiza Nara" campaign together with local communities and travel agencies to promote the use of the Tokaido Shinkansen mainly from the Tokyo metropolitan area to the Kansai region. We are also developing the “Charter Car Package,” which allows customers to charter the Tokaido Shinkansen by car unit and hold original events on board, and aggressively pursuing new sales initiatives that capture customer trends and needs.
West Japan Railway Company
At JR West, we inaugurated the Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Kanazawa and Tsuruga in collaboration with various partners in March 2024. Additionally, next March, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete opening of the Sanyo Shinkansen line. With the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo starting in April, we anticipate a significant influx of visitors to the Kansai region. By promoting Kansai Plus-One Trips, we aim to generate excitement by encouraging tourists to explore the rich array of attractions throughout West Japan.We will continue to prioritize safety and security, while connecting people with each other, people with cities, and people with society through both physical and digital means, to further invigorate West Japan.
